Woops!!

I noticed that I said that Main Street Yarns in in Miton - it is actually MILTON!! Sorry Carolyn!

Slacking Already!!

Well, well, here I go for the second time this am, computer is acting up, and decided to shut down on me, just as I was ending the post!! Go figure!
Anyway, here I am, sorry for the big space between posts, we have all been suffering from "the cold" the usual at this time of year around here, as the kids go back to school, and bring home goodness knows what from school. My hubby works for the local college, so that doesn't help either!! My son has been up so many times since Monday during the night, he doesn't quite understand the concept of blowing his nose yet, so needs assistance! Of course, those of you with kids know, that when they are sick, you listen out for any small noise all night anyway! So last night, I really started to come down with the massively sore throat, neither juice nor coffee is helping this morning. Since I have very bad Rhumatoid Arthritis (had a total hip replacement last Fall - if anyone wants info, or have questions about this surgery, don't hesitate to ask!) I am very suceptible to any type of bug -- but as we all know, Mom's don't stop to be sick!!
As for my knitting, I am going to attempt another of the dishcloths from the Mason-Dixon Knitting book this morning - I have made 2 others over the past few months, but neither have turned out at all right. I have no idea how people seem to be whipping thru them at warp speed, and saying they are easy......tricky I would say. So will attempt another and see if I can finally get the knack.
Went to my knitting class on Monday night, and got some super help on my project for my son - the sweater with the small armhole..I had attempted to unpick the sewing up of the side seam, and cut into my stitiches (arrrggg!), was going to frog it out, until my hubby suggested taking it to my class to get help on - so a big shout out and thanks to Renee from Main Street Yarns in Miton, Ontario (a super LYS, hi to Carolyn as well, she is the owner, and stocks some fantastic stuff!). Renee helped me unpick the stitches, and I have now frogged it back a bit and reknit ready to put together!!
The cardi for myself is going really well, knitting up the back, so not a lot to report.
Well, will go for now -- hi to Rain from "Frogs in Knots" bog - wish I could figure out how to link the site -- any help appreciated!! Rain - I tried to respond, but my server sent the email back to me, thanks for the comments!!

Happy knitting everywhere!

Monday, Monday, Monday

Hi Everyone -- if there is indeed anyone out there reading this! I have no idea, if you are reading, let me know with a quick email!
I am off to my knitting class tonight, they couldn't get my first colour choice (which I had my heart set on) so I went off to Toronto on Saturday, and found it!!
You know what it's like -- when you have an idea in your head, and have to see it thru to fruition!!

As for Gray's Anatomy -- yey!!! Good premiere - I was not one of the many Canadians who say episode 2 instead of 1 - yes, this actually happened, and there were many confused viewers trying to figure out what was going on!!

I finished a "simple" chunky sweater for my son this past weekend, the knitting of it was great, able to cast on again to do the detailing around the neck, but.....then came the time to sew up. I sewed on the sleeves - no problem - then attempted to sew up the sides and under the arms -- when I had completed it, there was no way he could get his arm into the armhole!!!!!
So, I am taking it with me tonight to see if the instructor can give me any help, if not it will be frogged!!

Time to prepare for dinner, so off I go, remember if you are reading this, I would love to hear from you!!
I'll hopefully be starting to post some pics soon!

Take Care!

Another Day ...One More to Gray's Anatomy !!!

Another day, yes, one more until the season premier of Gray's Anatomy! Can't wait! It is one of the few shows that I actually enjoy. My sister and I were talking today, and we were trying to figure out what good primetime comedies were on - and we couldn't think of any!! We were so used to watching Friends, and Will and Grace (I miss that one!! - was my fav.), we're not too fond of The Office, Earl, or Two and A Half Men etc.
Anyway, I worked at the store today, my flooring business, it seems that whenever I am in without my sales staff, as was the case today, everything goes haywire!! Oh well, most of it was figured out, and I was able to clear up a lot of stuff that has been lingering on my desk for the past...um...month! Ok, I'm not usually that bad, am actually a neat-freak (my staff are not - so go figure!!) Doesn't it feel good though to get stuff cleared up that has been lingering, and lingering...all that stuff that sometime we all just feel will do itself!!
Day 2 of JK for my little guy, seemed to go off without a hitch, he loves it, which is great, always a parents concern isn't it!
As for the knitting, I have just started a knitting course, on how to do a sweater, it is in Sirdar Denim Ultra (my fav!) and is a cardigan. That just started on Monday. As for on the needles, I am experimenting with a toddler sweater in the same yarn, for my son. So far so good, am now on the sleeves, it is the Rumpelstiltskin Toddler's Jacket by Linda Urquhart for the book "Knitters Stash" - it is the most basic, but cute, childs sweater pattern that I have found so far, and I have looked at A LOT!!
Well, signing off for now, supper is takeout tonight - Pizza - yey!!

Hi! Welcome to my first try!!

Hi Everyone! This is my first blog - I have been reading many international knitting blogs for a long time, and finally decided to create their own.
About me? Well, I am both a stay-at-home Mom and own my own floor covering business...more about that in a moment!
My hubby and son (who just started Kindergarten this am!) keep me very busy, but are so very amazing. I inherited our family flooring business at the end of last year, as both of my parents passed away from cancer in 2005. It keeps me very busy, but I enjoy the challenge.
My mom taught me to knit about 20 years ago, she was a fantastic knitter, and it is only now that I realize why she loved to spend time in the LYS! When I would continually say "Are we going now?", now it is better than a candy store for me...the great lover of sweets!
I picked up a set of needles again last year, after a long time, when they were all over the cancer hospital, for people to knit squares for blankets, while they were waiting for their loved ones to have radiation treatment. I thought that I should get into knitting again as a stress reliever, and as an outlet to my creativity.
I am sooo very glad that I did, and although I haven't made too many projects yet, I am constantly buying knitting books and stash, as well as practicing techniques!
Well, have to go pick up my son now from school (can't believe I am saying that!), but will log in again later and continue!!
Take Care!
